Privacy at Just Drones
This is the short version: we run a drone news site, we don’t sell your data, we don’t run intrusive ad networks, and the only personal information we hold is whatever you choose to send us by email or via comment forms (which are currently disabled site-wide).
What we collect automatically
- Server logs: standard web server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp), retained for around 30 days for abuse-prevention and debugging.
- Cloudflare: our DNS and CDN provider sees the same request data and applies its own privacy policy.
- No analytics tag is currently installed. If we add Google Analytics or similar in future, we’ll update this page.
Affiliate cookies
Clicking an Amazon link on this site sets a cookie on amazon.com.au (or wherever the link points), not on justdrones.com.au. That cookie tells Amazon to credit any purchase made within their cookie window (currently 24 hours for Amazon Associates) to us. Amazon’s privacy policy applies to that cookie, not ours.
If you email us at [email protected], we keep that email so we can reply. We don’t add you to any list. We don’t sell your email. If you want every trace of our correspondence deleted, ask and it’s done.
Mailchimp newsletter (if/when we run one)
The Mailchimp plugin is installed on the site but not currently collecting signups. If we launch a newsletter, we will explicitly tell you what you are signing up to, the unsubscribe link will be in every email, and your email address will be stored only at Mailchimp.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act and (if you’re in the EU/UK) the GDPR, you can ask us what data we hold on you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, or ask for it all to be deleted. Email [email protected]. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Cookies summary
- WordPress sets a cookie when you log in to the admin area (only relevant to the team, not visitors).
- WooCommerce sets cart cookies if you somehow add a product to your cart — but since our products redirect straight to Amazon, you’ll rarely if ever hit this.
- Cloudflare sets a small number of bot-management cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we’ll bump the date and note the change.
