Designed for FLIR Tau 2 core range as well as FLIR UAS products (Vue Pro / R series), ThermalCapture IRnet brings Ethernet/IP to drone thermal imaging payloads. Since nothing satisfying existed on a super lightweight base, TeAx today presents the leading solution to an increasingly global market request.

WILNSDORF, Germany, 3rd January 2018 – TeAx Technology, an innovative, trend-setting solution provider for thermal imaging technology within the global drone industry unveils another product: ThermalCapture IRnet. It provides an Ethernet interface for live data streaming to new and existing FLIR Tau 2 cores and FLIR Vue Pro / R cores.

Connectivity by Ethernet – A strongly increasing choice by key players in the global drone industry.

“Especially over the last year we recognized an ever-increasing request for drone thermal imaging solutions providing an Ethernet interface”, Markus Ax, one of the founders and CEOs of TeAx Technology, recalls. “It seems that not only the market has a demand for it but also, that more and more professional drone manufacturers decide to use Ethernet as their preferred choice of communication on board of a drone” Ax continues. With TeAx, being one of the global leaders for drone thermal imaging solutions, there was no question to design and develop another ThermalCapture product for the drone market: “In my meetings with clients I receive very positive feedback on our ThermalCapture solutions”, Michael Thoss, VP Sales & Marketing, states. He continues, “I am truly excited to see another product developed by TeAx where our clients can continue to rely on the most flexible and super lightweight thermal solutions – no matter in what condition or environment.”, Thoss continues.

Real-time access via Ethernet while recording radiometric data to microSD.

Being designed for FLIR Tau 2 and FLIR Vue Pro / R cores, ThermalCapture IRnet brings real-time access in drone flight operations to thermal imaging data. However, next to real-time access, it also stores the full 14-bit radiometric thermal data on a microSD card. But the best part? Real-time access remains available whilst radiometric data are being recorded to the microSD card and operators can also control the camera and settings via Ethernet: “We designed ThermalCapture IRnet in a way that drone operators easily can bring Ethernet capabilities to their thermal cameras and get the most out of their thermal system – during field operations and after. Who is willing to accept limitations on professional tools such as thermal imaging?”, Thoss says and continues: “Professional drone payloads must meet actual requirements of drone operators in their field operations and shall surpass them. I am glad to see another TeAx solution being established – on proven ThermalCapture technology – which will take our clients to their next level and enables them for communication via Ethernet on their drone thermal operations.” Thoss sums it up.

Data privacy.

Since the usage of drones and its sensors becomes more and more popular, the need for data privacy is not only an ongoing issue but an increasing one as well. Providing the option for an Ethernet interface is not only making communication faster and more reliable, more importantly it also offers data privacy: “At TeAx, we take data privacy for our clients very seriously”, Ax highlights and continues “That said, we don’t have any access to collected data from our clients – unless they actively share those with us, for instance to get support or special features requests over to us”. Clients around the world, from various institutions do highly appreciate that corporate ethos at TeAx
